After we've moved 90% of our stuff into the space.....we can't open for business. We had not started "fluffing" yet as we were still working on finishing pieces and hoped to open in January.
All is not lost though. I will still pursue booth space and flea markets.....at least now I've built my inventory! I'm also thinking about opening an etsy shop for the Faded Farmhouse.
I'm a TOTAL believer that everything happens for a reason and I'm not the LEAST BIT bummed about this. It will be FORWARD MARCH from here on out!
Hoping you have a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and prosperous New Year!
Sounds like you have a positive attitude - it's too bad about the zoning, but I bet a better space will appear. Good luck, Robin!
ReplyDeleteBummed that it didn't work out, but love your attitude. Call me if you want to think about a space out in Leesburg (I think they'll give you a break bec. you're a friend of mine). Also, I'm sending that dealer your way (who was looking for stuff 2 weeks ago). In the meantime, where on EARTH are you putting everything???? You could sign up for the March DC Big Flea!
ReplyDeletePS Good call on that stipulation.
That kinda bits that they turned down your request for retail occupancy, but it sounds like you still have other options- just keep on trucking.
ReplyDeleteKarla had some kind of issue with having her house zoned for her monthly shows- but I think if you asked her for advice, it might be "wear a low cut shirt to the zoning hearing board"
Thanks for the nice boost of morale you sent me. Like you said it is upward and onward for both of us.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry your zoning didn't work out but wooo lucky you were smart enough to put that in the lease stipulation. Leesburg huh? Old stomping grounds for me.
I can't wait to see what happens in your journey.

Oh no!! I was so excited to come visit your new place. I hope you find another place that will work!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear it!
ReplyDeleteJust read Beth's comment, yep, she's got it right. Flirt with the zoning guy! I told mine that he looked like Billy Bob Thorton.
Hey You! Long time, no talk! I finally am caught back up with your blog and this new blog:) I am sorry it didn't work out, but you are so right about it all happening for a reason. Surrounding you with positivity! Hugs, Sonya
